A Day in San Francisco

Monday, June 5, 2017

Jackie had to work today and Brent had to work in the afternoon to cover for Adam.  We took the train in to San Francisco for a little sight seeing.  We got off near the Ferry Building and walked around that area.

We decided to walk over towards Chinatown.  I wanted to go by the fortune cookie factory to buy some fortune cookies.  It's an interesting place and very small.  There are only about 3 people who work there.  They run the cookies through a machine and there is a lady who puts the fortune in and then folds them.  This article was in the window.

We were all getting hungry so we decided on Dim Sum at the Great Eastern Restaurant.  It was really good.  It was time for Brent to head to work so we walked with him so we could talk to Adam and check things out at The Center for New Music.  They have it fixed up so nice and are so proud of their business.

Conrad and I decided to venture out on our own.  We wanted to go to a couple stores in the Japantown area.  Brent gave us directions to the bus and told us where we needed to go.  Yes, you guessed it...we got lost!  We finally figured out what we needed to do and headed back the other direction.  Well, then we got off the bus too early and had to walk more than we had planned but, we found where we wanted to be.

There is a mall there with lots of gift stores and restaurants.  Almost all the restaurants have windows that show their dishes and the price.  It's interesting to see all the different things they offer.

It was about time to head back to the Center to meet Brent.  From there, we walked for miles (well, maybe not that far - it just seemed like it) to the Cheesecake Factory inside Macy's for dinner.  Jackie met us there and we had a really great meal there.
We finally made it!

We took the train back to Brent and Jackie's and we were so tired.  We had walked 17,122 steps and climbed 23 flights of stairs.
