YEA! We are back online! Tonight we are in Forks, home of the Twilight series. I will have to update you later this evening. We have checked in our motel and are having Happy Hour before going to get something to eat!
This whole area of the country is simply amazing! Everything is beautiful and the people here are so friendly! To give you a brief idea of what we've been up to lately
Yesterday we spent the day in Victoria, Canada. We left on the 8:30 ferry and arrived there at 9:45. We walked all day and we exhausted by the time we got back at 9:00. It is a beautiful city. We walked through the Empress Hotel but I heard a guy there quote someone that High Tea was $59. per person.
Today we stopped at a park we heard about that had really great tide pools and they were right. We spent longer there than we intended to but, oh well, we're on vacation! Then it was on to Neah Bay, home of the Makah Indian tribe. They had a great museum there then headed out to Cape Flattery, the most northwestern point in the continental US. It was breath-taking! It was kind of foggy but it all added to the mystery of the place. We saw some harbor seals there. The lady there told us the whales had been through a few days ago but more should be along.
On our way to Forks, we stopped at a park on the Sol Duc River and saw the Salmon Cascades (the fish ladders) and we saw two salmon jumping (maybe it was the same one), jumping up, trying to swim upstream.
We're heading out to eat now and I'll work on more information and some pictures when we get back. This place has dial-up internet so things are kind of slow!
